About Marsha

Hello, I am glad you are here.

My name is Marsha and I help people through life's challenging moments helping clients restore what has been broken and return to what matters.

I am the founder of Destiny Wellness Center and creator of TRUEDEN™ Self-Care Mastery, a practical framework that integrates emotional wellness, functional health, and intentional living.

I believe the quality of our lives is shaped by the quality of our self-care. And I know firsthand what happens when that care is neglected.

My Story

Sometimes life falls apart before we discover what truly matters.

At 39 years old, I found myself fighting for my life.

As my teenage children waited outside the emergency room doors, I overheard a doctor tell a nurse that someone needed to inform me to make my funeral arrangements.

I grabbed my purse and scribbled my final wishes on the back of a Burger King napkin.

The good news? I did not die.

But surviving and living are two very different things.

Just two years earlier, I had been married, raising my children in our dream home, and helping manage a successful business. Now I was a single mother of four teenagers, working a minimum-wage job, living in a roach-infested rental house, and struggling to recognize the woman I had become.

Physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, relationally, and financially, I was running on empty.

My turning point came one Saturday afternoon while lying on the couch. Three of my children stood over me, took the remote out of my hand, and declared that nine months of Lord of the Rings marathons was enough.

They wanted their mom back.

The heartbreaking truth was that I did not know how to find her.

But I began. One small step at a time.

The journey was long, and recovery did not happen overnight. I had to examine my beliefs, rediscover my values, care for my physical health, rebuild relationships, restore my environment, and find meaningful work and purpose again.

Along the way, I discovered something that would change how I understood self-care.

Self-care is not simply what we do to feel better. Self-care is how we manage the lives we have been given.

Recovery is not enough. We must develop awareness, habits, and life systems that help us move forward with greater resilience, confidence, and purpose.

From My Story to Self-Care Mastery

As I rebuilt my own life and later walked alongside others experiencing trauma, grief, stress, and significant life changes, I began recognizing a common pattern.

People were often struggling in more than one area of life. Emotional distress affected physical health. Financial pressures strained relationships. Unhealthy beliefs influenced decisions. Overwhelming responsibilities left little energy for rest and recovery.

Everything was connected.

I began thinking of these essential areas of life as Life Tanks. Just as a vehicle cannot operate without fuel, we are unable to function effectively when the important areas of our lives are continually depleted.

That understanding became the foundation of my Self-Care Mastery Model, which encompasses eight interconnected dimensions: Spiritual, Physical, Mental, Emotional, Relational, Occupational, Financial, and Environmental Wellness.

Today, through TRUEDEN™, I help people understand these connections and develop practical ways to replenish and maintain the areas of life that support their well-being.

Because true self-care is not selfish, indulgent, or something we do only when life becomes overwhelming.

Self-care is self-leadership.

Why TRUEDEN?

Returning to What Matters. Restoring What Has Been Broken.

Self-Care Mastery welcomes people of every faith and none, but the name TRUEDEN was inspired by the biblical Garden of Eden.

I often think about God's original design for human life. A beautiful, lush garden where man and woman had meaningful work, nourishing food, companionship, spiritual connection, and a peaceful environment in which to live.

There was purpose, provision, relationship, responsibility, and a place of belonging.

To me, TRUEDEN represents a return to these foundational elements of well-being.

Not a return to a perfect world or a life without hardship, but a commitment to restoring what has been wounded, neglected, or broken along the way.

It is about returning to our core beliefs and values, caring for our physical and emotional health, nurturing meaningful relationships, finding purpose in our work, and creating environments that support the lives we want to live.

TRUEDEN is a reminder that while we cannot always change what has happened to us, we can participate in the work of restoration.

My professional background combines trauma and crisis counseling education, critical incident stress management, holistic and functional nutrition, and years of supporting individuals navigating difficult seasons of life.

But my greatest lessons have come from understanding that knowledge alone does not transform a life.

We must learn how to apply that knowledge.

What I Believe

Every area of life is connected. Our physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, relational, occupational, financial, and environmental well-being influence one another. Neglecting one area can affect the others.

Our worth is not determined by our circumstances. Self-worth comes from recognizing our inherent value, not from our achievements, relationships, income, or what has happened to us.

Recovery and restoration are possible. Life can bring extraordinary hardship, trauma, grief, and loss. While we may not be able to return to the life we once knew, we can create a meaningful life moving forward.

Self-care is a personal responsibility, not a luxury. Caring for ourselves requires awareness, healthy boundaries, intentional choices, and practical systems that support our well-being.

We do not have to change everything at once. Lasting change begins with one intentional step, one healthy habit, and sometimes, one Life Tank at a time.

A Personal Invitation

I know what it is like to look at your life and wonder how you got here. I also know what it is like to begin again.

If you are navigating change, feeling overwhelmed, or simply wanting to create a healthier, more meaningful life, I hope you find something here that encourages you.

You do not have to rebuild everything today.

You just have to begin within.

And because I love a good story, you are always welcome to share your story with me at [email protected].
